Participate in a Survey About Sense of Community in a Mediated World – April 25 Deadline
I’m trying to reach as many players of World of Warcraft as possible to answer my survey. If you are a player, you are invited to both take the sense of community survey and pass this information on to your guild, family, friends, and others you know who also play. As a thank you for helping complete this research, at the end of the survey you can choose to enter a drawing to win one of two $50 Amazon gift cards.
I am a doctoral student of Media Psychology at Fielding Graduate University’s School of Psychology in Santa Barbara, CA. I have played World of Warcraft on and off since 2009–and my husband has been playing since 2004. I’m approaching social gaming from a positive perspective. The goal of my research is to look at sense of community across community types, both online and offline, by asking players of World of Warcraft to answer the survey about their guilds as well as home neighborhoods and two other communities. This online survey is part of my dissertation. Participation in the survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes.
