Sense of Community in a Mediated World
My research addresses membership across four community types starting with World of Warcraft guilds, or formal teams of players, and moving across three other communities the players belong to including their local neighborhoods. This research will provide a new look at sense of community across community types including means of connection, first concentrating on sense of community in each community and then allowing for further analysis of whether unique attributes of each community relate to members’ feelings of sense of community.
